ETF Trading in the form of CFDs

ETF trading overview

ETF stands for ‘Exchange Trade Funds’. ETFs are tradable, financial instruments that track an index, a commodity, bonds, or a basket of assets. By trading an ETF, traders can invest in a specific sector, rather than in a specific instrument, and hedge against risks within the single instrument.
At Vestle, you have the opportunity to trade a variety of ETFs in the form of CFDs via your PC, smartphone or tablet.

Trading ETFs in the form of CFDs

When trading ETFs in the form CFDs (Contracts For Difference), you are not actually buying the specific ETF, but rather investing in its price. A CFD instrument is based on the market value of the financial instrument it represents. At Vestle, you can trade the price of many different types of ETFs, covering a wide variety of sectors, as well as hundreds of other CFD instruments.

Short trading vs. long trading

When you trade ETFs in the form of CFDs, you can open trades in any direction, regardless of whether you expect the ETF’s price to increase or decrease. If you believe that the price will decrease, open a ‘Sell’ (short) position. If you believe the ETF’s price will increase, open a ‘Buy’ (long) position.
